Van Conversion Step 2 – Electrical
Shout out to Freedom vans for all their help with this project! https://freedomvans.com
These folks were amazing to work with: I wanted to get the project started, cutting holes in the van is a great way to start. Freedom Vans is great at what they do and yes they cut holes too.
Initial contact was in June via email with a very quick response. The delivery of the van is scheduled for December 2021 so a February 2022 date was tentatively made.
Electrical Wish List
Solar – 60 cell LG (375 watts) with Victron solar charge controller.
Lithium Battery Bank – 500 amp hour with Victron monitor, battery isolator and disconnect. Batteries are also heated for charging in cold weather.
Inverter – 2000 watt industrial AIMS inverter
Shore Power – 60 amp battery charger with 15 amp inlet
Fuse block – 6-gang fuse block
Power System enclosure – custom built to hold all the goods
A/C – Nomadic Cooling 3000 12V AC

Freedom Vans made this initial process simple and provided great education for a newbie van conversion guy.
Things I would change:
I would not change anything with this other than wonder if the 3000 watt inverter would have been the better option.
